[뉴욕=MMK=폴황] 제네시스가 차세대 플래그십 SUV를 가늠할 수 있는 네오룬 콘셉트를 3월 25일 뉴욕에서 공개했다. 제네시스 하우스 뉴욕에서 열린 이번 공개행사에는 글로벌 미디어를 포함 지역을 대표하는 인사와 제네시스 관계자 등이 참가했다.
네오룬 콘셉트는 새로움을 뜻하는 ‘네오(NEO)’와 달을 뜻하는 ‘루나(LUNA)’를 합친 이름으로 디자인 모티브는 ‘문자(Moon Jar)’라 불리는 한국 전통의 달항아리에서 가져왔다. 네오룬 콘셉트는 EV 플랫폼 위에 만들어지며 제네시스가 X 시리즈를 통해 보여준 전동화 시대 새로운 제네시스의 시그니처를 담아냈다. 특히 파팅라인이 느껴지지 않을 정도의 금형 기술을 투 라인 주변으로 담아내 눈을 감고 램프 주변을 만져보면 마치 조약돌과 같은 부드러움을 느낄 수 있다.
전동 발판과 함께 활짝 열리는 코치 도어는 B 필러 기둥이 없는 디자인이 눈길을 끈다. 특히 그 모양새가 제네시스의 철학 중 하나인 ‘손님’을 맞이하는 듯한 의미도 담고 있다. 실내 구성은 인디고 블루를 사용해 편안하고 고전적인 미를 느끼게 했고, 팝업 디스플레이를 비롯 첨단과 클래식이 잘 어울리도록 만든 것이 특징이다. 특히 한국의 온돌 과학을 차량 내부에 도입. 뜨거운 바람을 통한 실내 온도 상승이 아닌 은은하게 열기가 올라오도록 만들어 눈길을 끈다.

[New York=MMK=Paul Hwang] Genesis revealed the Neolun concept, which can gauge its next-generation flagship SUV, on March 25th in New York. The unveiling event, held at Genesis House New York, was attended by global media, local dignitaries, and Genesis officials.
The Neolun concept, a name combining ‘Neo’ meaning new and ‘Luna’ meaning moon, draws its design motif from the Korean traditional ‘Moon Jar.’ The concept is built on an EV platform, embodying the new signature of Genesis in the era of electrification as shown through its X series. Notably, the molding technology around the two lines is so refined that touching around the lamps with eyes closed feels as smooth as a pebble.
The concept features coach doors that open wide without a B-pillar, attracting attention with a design that seems to embody Genesis’s philosophy of welcoming guest as a ‘son-nim’. The interior uses indigo blue for a comfortable and classic feel, with features including a popup display that beautifully integrates modernity and classic design.
Especially noteworthy is the introduction of Korean Ondol science into the vehicle’s interior. Instead of heating through hot air, it creates a subtle rise in temperature, drawing interest.
